Where Can I Find Me Some Fiction?

Where is all the fiction at? coz its not under fiction or literature.

Trying to find fiction on Substack can be a real painstaking process, their are literally two places where fiction is supposed to be under.

But once you click on each one, you get more politics than fiction.

A few people have talked about how you can filter those posts out etc.

But why should we have to?

Shouldn’t a fiction section just be that?

I have talked about this in an earlier post about a month ago, and i have seen quite a lot of people on notes making similar points as me.

Politics is the money maker, on here and anywhere else i guess.

Fiction clearly isn’t, at least we know that. but why is it so hard for us to find each other on here?

I mean you get articles about trump/Biden and now Harris literally everyday. in every section that you find.

Someone will be talking about them.

If you are in the U.S its fine, but I’m down here in South Africa, and why would i want to read about either of them first thing in the morning?

I could go on and on.

I’m at the point where i don’t even watch the news anymore, not because it is “fake”.

Its just the same stories that get told everyday.

And when it comes to politics, what changes with these people really? they make the same promises year after year, and nothing ever changes.

The only thing that ever changes is how much more bigger they get, and how much more control they want to have over our lives.

At least with fiction, you can get a new story to read every week, and it wont be the same as last weeks.

I found Substack and thought that this would be the place to break away from the news and what all that brings with. i got a sense that the people on top, when they they created this, fiction wouldn’t be at the top of their list.

Which is fine, their aim was to offer a place for reporters and others.

But when i saw there was a fiction section, i was over the moon.

Many of you fought to have a place for us and we cant thank you enough for that.

As time went on though i became really frustrated. i wanted some fiction but just couldn’t find more of it.

There are a lot of fiction being promoted, by fiction authors/readers. but one has to sift through all the news to get to those people.

Do we have to mute everyone who talks about politics to get some fiction?

I don’t know?

But what i do know, is that finding some fiction to read shouldn’t be a painstaking process for us. this is 2024, surely it can be easier than this?
